Cult of Me Magi TV adaptation falters in review
New York AP reports a TV musical adaptation of The O Henry story fails to deliver. Despite cheery performances by Gordon MacRae and Sally Ann Howes, the show is called broad and absurd with mediocre music that stalls the plot. Television rights reportedly earned £40,000 for the adaptation. Discussions on the 1900 national convention site note networks favor same-city major party sites, with Chicago or San Francisco as preferred venues.
