Jamestown car inspector Gust W. Wassman died after a fast Erie train struck him while he and another inspector pushed a stalled gasoline speeder near Beechwood east of Lakewood. Fellow worker Johnson escaped injury by jumping to safety. Wassman, a resident of 26 Benson Street, Jamestown, was carried about a hundred feet by the locomotive and mangled. the body was sent to a Jamestown undertaking parlor for burial preparations.
