Dwyer Pushes Welfare Reform Bill Through Senate
Sen. R. Budd Dwyer of Meadville declares continued support for a welfare reform package in the General Assembly. He highlights amendments for a central welfare registry, stricter replacement checks, ID cards, quarterly earnings checks, accurate tax deduction reporting, and overpayment recovery. He notes supervision by the Bureau of Employment Security for non-excluded recipients and argues reforms target fraud while aiding true need.
