Milford Schreckengost of the Corry Baptist Church sought city action to exonerate a ramshackle property across from the church, asking the city to take it for taxes. A city council night session approved a solicitor recommendation to charge the new one percent real estate transfer tax against the seller in transactions starting January. Senate moves toward final passage of a $34 million package for Baptine school districts to raise teacher salaries.
