A reorganization meeting of the Concord Township School Board was held yesterday at the M. C. Baldwin home. All officers were reelected: Arthur Lindstrom as president, Donald Gates as vice president, Walter Dingfelder as first alternate for the Corry Area Joint School district, and Mrs. Baldwin as second alternate.
City Council votes to publish the annual property assessments for about 2,800 parcels, with Finance Director Guy Abbey and Assessor William Miller confirming plans to reveal valuations to all property owners before the December 2 appeal deadline. The meeting also addressed street plowing delays, garbage collection costs, and various budget items, including pay raises for two employees.

The Carey Area Schools authorize bond counsel for a new 12 room elementary in Wayne and Concord townships. The plan includes a $445,000 bond issue with $32,000 for services and a schedule to secure bids by December 1 and a feasibility review to set contract details. Fidney Tultin of Pittsburgh led the meeting noting favorable market conditions for low interest rates and that all costs will be paid by taxpayers with minor exceptions.

The FBI, State Police, and city officers launched a three pronged probe into two burglaries in the early morning. Thieves smashed the Citizens National Bank at South Center and Main streets and the Miller Shops at 20 North Center street, discovered within minutes around 8 o clock. Police were alerted after bank staff found a broken window on the West Mall street side.
Chief Harley Drake stated the Gitizens National Bank and Miller Shops were broken into between 2 30 and 6 this morning. A local man saw the bank around 2 30 and no crime completed then. Detectives note possible intoxication given the bold theft and scene clues while a purse and petty cash were taken from the Miller Shops and an Indies apparel door glass was smashed.
Police report a man identified as P D OConnor passed a worthless check at Exo Hall early morning. He was apprehended hours later in Tionesta and will be arraigned before Alderman Cobbett. The suspect allegedly passed a phony check at Beso Hall and was detained after attempting another cashing.
