Roosevelt name raised in House blast over character attack
Lewis reported last night that Roosevelts name hadn’t come up until Wallace mentioned it as a charge he could not defend. Wallace wired chairman Wood asking for a chance to reply to continuous character assassination based on statements by former Reps McDowell and Vail, both on the committee. Jordan, relieved from the row, had served during the War at the American end of the lend lease route to Russia.
