Deer season closes as Sparta area hunters share tales
Sparta Der 6. The deer season ends Saturday evening as locals recount hunts across the region. William Krosl of B.D. 3 hunted daily but lost deer luck when their encounters near a water setting occurred without his gun. Various neighbors reported successful kills including button bucks and large does while others traveled far to hunt. A school play, community notices, and upcoming meetings fill the town paper as crowds face winter travel and illness notes.
