Long-lived Dublin figure dies in workhouse at Dunshaughlin
In Dublin on December 5 a packer maker and cattle driver known as Mickey Smith died at the Workhouse in Dunshaughlin at age about 118. He drank heavily, smoked constantly and was said married to Witter. In America a White Slavery act case leads to prison. Peter Cyesle of Duryea fined $100 and jailed for a year for luring a married woman from Austin to Lugarin county. Also James C. Koener, 68, a World War I veteran and former fighter, killed himself with his army rifle in York, Pennsylvania, after years in service.
