An outage hit the city and surrounding districts when a 33 000 volt line of the Pennsylvania Electric Company burned out. Power was off for about two hours in several areas with automatic switches failing in one section. Aged Man Found Dead In Corry Home

Five Indicted In Contempt Of Congress

Five scientists were indicted today by a federal grand jury for contempt of Congress after refusing to answer questions before the House Un-American Activities Committee about their wartime work and alleged Communist ties. Memorial Service Held At Elks Lodge For Local Members

About twenty six Elks members and others attended a Lodge of Sorrow at the Elks focal lodge yesterday afternoon. The service honored Dr. Harry Rhodes William T. O’Brien James E. Carrigg Abe Gumbinsky Perry F. Parker and other Jofize members who died in the past year. Mayer J. Fred Kinley delivered the eulogy. The Mate Chorus Roger Macray sang solo and organ and piano selections were performed by Mrs. H. Lynn Rice and Mrs. William Dawson of Ol City.
