United Press reports in Tulsa on December 3 that an alleged gang of amateur criminals drawn from adventure seeking scions of prominent families is being broken up by police. Phillip Jennifer 19 son of Federal Judge Frank B Kennamer and John Gorrell 23 son of a noted physician, along with Wade Thomas owner of a nightclub, were jailed as police described him as the gang brain. Thomas allegedly used wealthy youths in gambling games and many debts were incurred.

30 Hour Week Demanded in Oil Industry
Washington Dec 8 Modilisation of oil code labor provisions to include a 30 hour week without reducing pay was urged at a Petroleum Labor Policy Board hearing by Harvey Fremming president of the International Association of Oil Mields and Refinery Workers. Fremming said Interior Secretary Harold Ickes should attend the hearing in person due to its importance. Ickes was in Warm Springs Ga with President Roosevelt. Oil workers cited weeks from 26 to 48 hours and wage scales from 45 to 54 cents hour in oil operations and 40 cents to 147 cents in marketing. The board will forward Fremming's demand for consideration. final decision rests with Secretary Ickes.
