Fire destroys house and barn north of city

A fire early Sunday destroyed a house and barn north of the city about Ave miles away. The blaze started near a disused chimney while the occupied home was empty and spread to the barn destroying stored pork, stone tools, and furniture. Neighbors aided, one man injured and the source blamed on the chimney.

London December 3 King George III's condition showed improvement after a brief relapse as his heart faced strain from a lung infection. Doctors said he slept quietly and his general condition improved with oxygen support while crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace.
