Engine Crew Killed in Frightful Wreck North of the City

A devastating Pennsylvanian wreck occurred early this morning one mile north of Corry when freight and passenger cars derailed after a wheel failure on the pony track near the Childs tower. Engineer Morton of Corry, 62, and Fireman Aishner, 20, died. Morton’s body was recovered after heroic efforts. The surviving crew and passengers were moved to safety by a rescue train and officials planned an immediate investigation.

Corry Boy Sends Relic Of Zeppelin From France

A letter from Walter Grenzler of the Bell Telephone Signal Corps describes a Zeppelin assault on London. It notes a fragment of the craft and a vivid account of its seven hundred fifty feet length and aluminum frame. The airship reportedly landed safely after a reconnaissance flight over French territory near Tourbonne les Ramos.

Death of Mrs. Parsons

The funeral for Mrs. Weary S. Parsons was held at 1 p.m. at the family home, conducted by Rev. C. B. Woodwan, with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.
