Warren December 2 The town of Marienville nearly total destroyed by the prior weekend will be rebuilt immediately according to statements from W & Mench a leading local business figure. Rebuilding of the battered district will begin as soon as materials arrive with nearby towns contributing food and clothing and temporary stores set up to supply residents.
As flames consumed the Keystone Hotel, owner J W Dann and townspeople rushed to salvage valuables. They moved crates and whiskey from the burning building into the street while others tried to douse the blaze and prevent explosions.
Democratic candidate Liebel filed his county expense report showing total expenditures of 8259.48 with no contributions recorded. Treasurer Mehler and Democratic City Committee treasurer Lynch also filed statements detailing club expenditures and committee distributions funded largely by Liebel’s donations.
Dunkirk reports two men charged as promoters of fake wrestling. Others named include Art Sayles Ed Downe and Frank Jenalias Comstock with links to Buffalo saloon operator Harry Lathrop who provided details. Victims claim losses of 1270 to 1410 in the controversial matches.
