Leslie Henry King, President Ford's half brother and owner of an auto parts store in Cookeville, was killed in a head on collision on Interstate 40 west of Lebanon Tennessee with a tractor trailer loaded with pipe. The driver of the truck, Billy Hudson, was uninjured. Ford learned of the death shortly after it occurred.
