Move To Revote In Spring Creek Draws Attention
Warren County commissioners reviewed the Erie County tally from the November 4 election. The official count didn’t change results or alter the Spring Creek school board race, leaving candidate Raymond Morris uneasy as five voters who did not return may have cost him a lead. A faulty voting machine, a repair visit, and voters turned away by the judge hindered balloting. Morris trailed Rex Ireland by 13 votes in eight districts. A revote is considered possible, with Warren County Commissioner Dr David Rice noting only one similar case elsewhere, in New Jersey. Morris’s attorney declined further comment.

Vote On Postal Strike Threat Remains Unclear
Ottawa AP report says outcome of the Canadian postal strike vote is uncertain as more than two thirds of ballots from 22 000 union members failed to yield a clear majority for or against the tentative contract. Results hinge on western centers plus close returns from Maritime provinces Quebec Ontario and British Columbia. Union urged rejection as terms unchanged by Postmaster General Bryce Mackasey. If ratified the deal would need federal anti inflation board approval.

FBI Klan Violence Warnings Questioned By Former Informant
Gary Rowe Jr alleged the FBI knew of planned Klan violence and often did nothing, including a 1961 Birmingham attack on freedom riders. He testified that the FBI photographed events while harm occurred. Rowe recalled one instance where a warning led to no action. He faced past charges linked to Viola Liuzzo’s murder but later testified as the government witness. House panel heard, as Nixon aide Erlichman claimed orders to move secret wiretap files to the White House. Helen Gandy testified she followed Hoover’s wishes destroying his files.
