An Allegheny Airlines twin engine plane bound from Philadelphia to Cleveland crashed into Mount Nittany amid a snowstorm near Montoursville Pennsylvania. Rescue crews recovered debris and one survivor was reported though death toll remained uncertain.
The council voted a 7.5 mill rate and a record $228,885 city budget for next year raising spending by $14,058. Samuel Smith filed suit after his son was critically injured December 15 1958 near Erie in a three car collision ten miles south of the city. He died four days later in a hospital.
