Union City Man Dies After Westinghouse Blast
Frank Yurisie, 26, Union City, dies in Spencer Hospital Meadville from severe burns suffered November 20 in a chemical furnace explosion at the Westinghouse plant. He is the second fatality, following John Hayberg, 26, Conneautville, who died hours after the blast. Funeral services set for Tuesday at St Teresa Church Union City. Survived by widow Helen, father Matt, sister Mrs Joseph Pree, and four brothers. Coroner ruled accidental death.

Fire guts store and apartment in Erie building
Fire of undetermined origin late Saturday destroyed a two story business apartment in Erie. The blaze forced two families from their homes and damaged a smoke house restaurant run by Dan House. Fire officials traced the fire to the basement with flames traveling upward to an attic space. The south half suffered the most damage impacting House's Restaurant on the first floor and the Gaines family on the second.

Jamestown Typographical Union Undecided on Strike Action
Jamestown Typographical Union No 205 remains undecided on striking the Jamestown Newspaper Corp over wage talks for the Jamestown Post Journal. Printers held three hour sessions Sunday and yesterday and a 9 pm meeting extended three hours with a further session planned. The company proceeded with a shortened Monday edition as talks continue. Warren Hospital patient dies after self harm attempt
John Sicktish, 61, a Warren State Hospital patient, died after hanging himself with two shoestrings from a clothes rack in his room. Discovered by a roommate, he had earlier shot himself injuring his left eye before admission from Clearfield county. Coroner said death occurred about an hour before discovery.

Mrs Esther Jones Dies After Illness at 85
Mrs Esther Plorence Jones died Sunday evening at her son in law and daughter’s home 633 East South Street. Born April 9 1861 at Spring Creek she was the last Nichols child. Surviving daughters Mrs Faulkner and Mrs William Paul Darling and two grandchildren. Funeral at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Wednesday at 2 with interment at West Lawn Cemetery Columbus.
