Letters to the Editor spotlight pay raises and minimal wage woes
In comments to Judge Doty and through local voices, readers denounce a $2,500 pay raise as a mere pittance compared to costs faced by workers earning as little as $1.60 per hour. They urge action on minimum wage, taxes, and pension fairness, citing personal hardship and urging advocacy from Pennsylvania officials. The piece also cites the American Peace Crusade, Civil Defense efforts, and community thanks for local responders in a separate note.

He landed in Saigon after flying from Thailand in an F 4 Phantom, noting combat aviation as the peak of his eight year career. Ritchie, 30, graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1964 and has logged near 3,000 flying hours with 40 combat missions in Vietnam. His squadron, the 555th Tactical Fighter Squadron, supports raids over North Vietnam to blunt MIG intercepts. his copilot Capt Charles DeBellevue remains one kill shy of ace status.
