Harrisburg dispatch reports rising tensions in wage talks as mine operators press for concessions and Governor Pinchot plans separate briefings with both sides. A high level conference at the executive mansion was followed by swift moves to bring in federal and state experts to end the stalemate.
In Harrisburg on August 28 State Treasurer Charlen A. Snyder refused to pay warrants under the administration bill. Attorney General George Woodenff stated the court will write a second mandamus against the treasurer tomorrow.
Shingson reports that recognition of Mexico by the United States is expected within a few days after authorities in Mexico City indicated an American envoy had been informed. The State Department notes no formal recognition has occurred yet and stresses sensitivity to age and other unspecified factors.
United Press reports Wilbur, a Klansman missing since the Forsythe farm near Carnegie riot, possibly killed in the clash that left Thomas R. Abbott dead. Officials seek help to locate him and other witnesses as investigations continue.
Lewis arrives in Philadelphia and sets up strike headquarters at the Bellevue Stratford to direct the 15 000 mine workers walkout. Bids for paving east Pine Grove Cemetery roadways must be received by the directors before noon tomorrow. Bids should be in the hands of GG. Alexander, manager of the association, by the deadline. If a tentative factory price is secured, a contract will likely be awarded at Wednesday evening committee meeting.

His chauffeur Sergeant Major Beard and Aldeda camp Conatti were also killed as officials vow to追 apprehend the perpetrators.

Clyde Heath, son of Mr and Mrs CH Teath, died at the hospital this morning after a pneumonia complication following surgery. He was a 1910 Corry High School graduate and had operated a farm on North Center Street. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 PM from his home at 120 Second Avenue, with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, two young sons Boyd and David, his parents, and a brother Ralph Heath.
Governor Pinchot intends a statewide speaking tour starting in October to showcase the administration’s achievements since January. He has asked department heads to provide eight talking points and results from new programs to present to large audiences.
