James Pappas owner of No Recreation Alleys announces East Main street bowling emporium will be managed by Paul W. Erlandson of Jamestown for the 1917-44 season. Erlandson is in the city finalizing opening plans as refinishing and repairs proceed. The interior repainting and cleanup work are nearing completion.
Frey, 92, Jamestown, is sentenced to six months in Munroe county penitentiary after appearing before Judge Barger in City Court on a charge of disorderly conduct. This marks his third court appearance in about a month as authorities cite prior suicide attempts and recent jail incidents. He requested Gowanda observation, and the judge noted an overstrained penitentiary system.
Authorities say Frey has a history of violent behavior and his latest Saturday arrest followed that pattern. Prison officials were to determine the nature of his trouble, with police noting the incident fit his prior record.
Police said a man fled into a second floor stairwell and jumped to the ground rather than face officers. He was taken to Jamestown General Hospital where authorities allege he resisted treatment and suffered chin lacerations.
