Bradford Airport and Major Projects Outlined
Bradford city officials faced Rotary Club with plans for a McKean County airport and other large developments. City Solicitor Francis M. Nath described airport prospects as bright, backed by county commissioners and a tax-heavy oil committee, with Army Engineers and a geologist reviewing site suitability. Parking meters could yield 10 000 to 15 000 dollars annually, while a sewage plant would cost several hundred thousand, delaying near-term action.

School board names one new teacher amid staffing shifts
The board discussed Edinger's instructional position and that state law leaves discretion to the board for vacancies. Supt. Dewey announced returning teacher Hilda Schenker Anderson to the Junior High in the fall after a yearlong medical leave. No action was taken on the English vacancy or on moving staff from the south side elementary schools due to dwindling enrollment and potential shifts to higher posts amid anticipated defense-related operational cuts.
