A 50yearold Fayette County man Walter Nebester of South Everson died after his legs were amputated by a passing train. He was found on the Pennsylvania Railroad tracks near Scott dale station late last night about 1500 feet from the depot and died in Prick Community Hospital.
A common laborers union and the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania reached a settlement ending an eight week strike in Pittsburgh. The stoppage had halted about six million dollars worth of public works contracts and projects.
A frame dwelling on R D 1 Bear Lake burned to the ground this morning. The Dyer family of five were displaced and are staying with neighbors. Fire Chief Stuart said the fire was discovered by a child, alarms were delayed by lack of a phone, and units from Sugar Grove fought the blaze with limited water. Cause undetermined.
A young driver was injured early this morning when his car failed to negotiate a sharp curve, left the road for 50 yards and crashed into a house north of Spartansburg. He received treatment for a forehead laceration and arm injuries. The house damaged 150, the auto 700. State police reported no immediate charges.
A transformer at the Reymond plant substation burned this morning causing a power outage across part of the area. Pennsylvania Electric Company lines feeding the Second Avenue substation were affected and Aero Supply's alarm system activated. Penelec crews located the fault and repaired it within an hour.

Col. William M Banks was acquitted by a court martial of negligence in the collapse of a Texas radar tower that killed 28 people. Banks, 46, said his innocence was established and he returned to his post at Stewart Air Force Base before resuming duties in San Antonio.
A blaze at Curry Foam Products Co on West Main Street started in the shredding area of the reclaiming unit at 10 23 p m Yesterday. Stanford Hose Co. fought the fire with 24 men deploying 500 feet of hose and 700 feet of line. Damage stayed under 50 dollars, with the rest of the plant spared.
New York AP reports Ernest Hemingway left his entire estate to his widow Mary in a handwritten will filed for probate. He asks her to provide for his three sons from a prior marriage, with the estate listed as over 20 000 dollars pending appraisal. The document, dated September 17 1955, is on laid personal stationery from Finca Vinia Cuba and mentions Johnny Hemingway Gregory Hemingway and Patrick Hemingway.
