Fire destroys home and workshop in Worth Street blaze

A fire at the home of Mr and Mrs George Jones on Worth Street last evening nearly destroyed the dwelling and workshop. The blaze started in the kitchen suspected from a hot plate as strong winds fanned the flames. The couple escaped with minor injuries as firefighters battled the blaze. the house is a total loss with insurance unavailable and possible rebuilding planned.
