Girl Scouts Own Program At Leisure Lake
Girl Scouts of Troop 299 staged a special event at Leisure Lake from 4 to 9 p.m. presenting an Our Country program with a wiener roast, opening flag ceremony, color guard, and readings. The troop led the Girl Scout pledge and laws, explained a Scouts Own, and closed with Taps before singing America and Make New Friends. In New York, Norman Pawlak known as Norman Paris was found guilty of four counts of tax evasion for unreported income of 179000 in Manhattan federal court.

Corry Bridge Association members and guests enjoyed a five table Howell session at the Corry Motor Inn with winners led by Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Beverly and Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Kinley. A special rating point game is planned for next Wednesday at 7 30 pm, followed by the annual fall dinner on September 6. Legion Auxiliary Unit 365 will meet Monday at the Legion Home to install officers for 1972 1973 with Mrs. George Stewart as installing officer.additional guests include Mrs. William Sova and Mrs. David Johnson. A birthday party for Erie Veterans Administration Hospital patients is planned for September 20.

Stanford Hose Auxiliary Meeting Report Carries Charity and Plans
Twenty three members of the Stanford Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary met at Fire Station No. 1 led by president Mrs Robert Falcone. They voted a donation to the Corry Stairways program welcomed one new member Mrs Harold Rhodes. Reports covered a barn fire in Elgin and upcoming appearances on the Jeanne Carnes Show to promote a card party. Activities include knife sales, a concession stand project for Field Day, bake sales, a planned community calendar, and a plastic article demonstration after the next meeting on August 28th. The group received a special award with refreshments hosted by several chairmen. Also noted, Erma M Ames a Pennsylvania delegate to the Republican National Convention suffered a heart attack during the event in Miami Beach.
