Delegates Named for State Constitutional Convention Nominees
Retired General Electric executive and former National Grape Cooperative president were acclaimed as GOP candidates to the state constitutional convention. John H. Scarlett of Erie and Douglas M. Moorhead of Moorheadville Harborcreek Township led near 109 votes mid-roll call. Kevin M. Mead was the only other nomination. The two nominees hold various local posts and planning roles. Separately, Two-week Vacation Bible School at First Methodist Church culminates with a 7 p.m. service featuring Jimmy Davis and the Jim Club crew. In sports, Olympic bobsledder John Helmer, 46, former coach, dies in Plattsburgh. Fire ant bites and a pain relief ad round out the page.
