Vacation of service by Wattsburg area church group
In July 1974 twenty five Wattsburg Phillipsville area volunteers embarked on Appalachia Service Project trips to Wisconsin Kentucky and West Virginia. They spent five days each on rebuilding homes painting and insulating without pay raising 700 for Lac du Flambeau. Volunteers funded the trip through subs sales and donations and reported personal rewards from helping others, including a grateful elderly homeowner dancing in her patched home and a mother of eight cherishing a framed photo.
