County Slayer Seeks Pardon in 1992 Murder Case
Antonia Sampieri, a seventy five year old one legged inmate, has again applied for commutation of sentence for the murder of his wife Antonina. District Attorney Damian J. McLaughlin will oppose. Sampieri contends his stepchildren are willing he be released and says he will rejoin society. He was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in 1992. his health is failing and one leg was amputated in 1941.

Clymer Man Jailed After Gun Threat
Mayville August 22 John Kuczynski 59 of Clymer pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after threatening another man with a shotgun during a timber sale argument. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail and fined $50 by Justice Warren Whitney.

Union City Gets Vocational Agriculture Course
Erie Aug 22 Approval of a proposed vocational agriculture course at Union City Joint High School will be asked of the county school board at its Saturday meeting. Union City schools will open September 3 under joint operation by Union City borough and Union township. The agricultural course already operates in 11 Erie county high schools. Omar Menoher is named instructor, previously an assistant in vocational agriculture at Albion. The program expands to all Erie county schools except Erie Corry Wesleyville and Lawrence Park due to demand.
