Insurance law raises motorist protection in Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania the 1945 financial responsibility law improves auto accident reimbursements. It requires drivers to carry liability insurance and permits suspending licenses for failure to meet requirements. Since Feb 1, 1945, coverage rose to 28 percent of vehicle owners, with 350 licenses suspended for noncompliance. Accident reports continue at about 15,000 monthly, many involving uninsured motorists.

Despite idle surplus attempts to rent the site, officials contemplate reentering market when 120 days pass, with buyer readiness to meet government ownership conditions. The plant’s wartime value is noted, but studies suggest limited current wartime production suitability.
