Korean Cabinet Resigns After Assassination Attempt

In Seoul thirty nine top officials including cabinet members and political aides offered resignations after last week's assassination attempt on President Park Chung-hee. Park accepted only two: Home Minister Hong Sung-chul and presidential bodyguard Park Chong-kyoo. The move signals responsibility for security failures, though Park's dictatorial powers mean policy remains unaffected. The opposition welcomed the shakeup as a chance for sweeping reforms.
