Tax gap widens in Meadville after faulty city calculator
Meadville A faulty calculator at City Hall reduced the assessed property value from 44.1 million to 38.35 million causing real estate tax revenue to fall. With 88 percent collection the revised estimate is 573,716 versus 606,314 at 93 percent. City Manager Blaine Hinds says belt tightening and delayed purchases are planned until revenue clearer.
