Peace festival near failure shocks Berlin audience
Western observers report the Communist peace festival as a near disaster for Communism. About 2,000,000 youth visited East Berlin and the Soviet zone, while 1,000,000 went west for meals and a look at U.S. and British canteens. Western analysts say the event failed to unite factions and exposed party indoctrination.
