Jamestown firemen responded to a sewer backup flooding the basement of the Jamestown Newspaper Corporation building. Pumps cleared water and prevented damage to the Post Journal presses. The incident followed a clogged sewer pipe causing the flood.
Harrisburg Aug 20 News reports Pennsylvania's new law requiring liquor store staff and taprooms to verify age with voters registration cards. The statute, funded by the Legislature and effective September, carries penalties including a $100 fine or up to 30 days jail for false statements.
