Two convicts aided escape with guns in Wheeling case

A Wheeling man, Paul Wisniewski, 44, was identified by a jail bookkeeper as the supplier of revolvers to two convicts who escaped from Allegheny County jail after an earlier murder case. Detectives traced Wisniewski from his Lay Nelles plant job and a 12 year old boy helped police by pointing to Wisniewski's photo, leading to his arrest.

Three Drownings After Car Plunges Into Creek Near Bridgeville

Pittsburgh dispatch reports a fatal accident at Bridgeville Clifton road where a motorcar toppled into a creek. The victims include Michael Anton, 65, of Bridgeville, and his daughter Virginia, with two other daughters also missing and presumed drowned. The family had set out to pick berries. the wife was later notified of the tragedy.

Lindbergh's Pal Killed in Crash in Missouri

Lieutenant George J. Stumpf was killed and Lieutenant Cliff Hutchinson seriously injured when their air plane crashed in St. Louis County Missouri Hear today. The aviators were members of the Missouri National Guard Corps and comrades of Colonel Lindbergh. Stumpf helped Lindbergh prepare for his trans Atlantic flight.

Reunion urged for 112th veterans by General Rickards

John Fish Dies After Short Illness at Home

John Fish passed away last evening at about eight o clock after a short illness at his home on North Center Street. Besides his wife, Mrs Fish, he is survived by one daughter Mrs James Stapleton and granddaughter Missopal Allen, both of this city. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at the home with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Boy Drowns Near Mere In Yellow Breeches Creek

In New Cumberland Pennsylvania on August 90 12 year old Richard Schriner drowned after slipping into Yellow Breeches Creek near Mere. The body was recovered fifteen minutes later but resuscitation failed.

Five defendants plead guilty in stiff sentences near Franklin

In Franklin five defendants before Judge Parker pleaded guilty. One received a year and six months in the Allegheny workhouse, another was sent to Morgana, and a third paid a 200 dollar fine. Harry Gordon of Erie, arrested in Oil City, faced 700 dollars in fines and costs and a year and a half in the workhouse. LeRoy Ebberts, 13, of Reno, was sent to Morganza for stealing a typewriter.

Woman assisted in murder of husband in timber camp

United Press reports that Edgar confessed to District Attorney James Beerkamp that he killed his partner Eric Brouillet and burned the body while Mrs Brouillet held a flashlight. He said he struck Brouillet with an axe and cut his throat as they returned to the timber camp where they worked.
