The North Hills Ladies Golf League held its annual invitational at North Hills with 48 participants and a Corrian Hotel awards luncheon. Prizes covered low gross and low net in Flights A B C, plus least putts, closest to pin, longest drive, and most putts for named players highlighted across divisions.
An all day session at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church features remarks by Mrs Sargent and a tureen dinner. District convention plans for Erie on Sept 1 are noted, with donations to the district president and get well cards for local patients. A golden wedding anniversary open house for Mr and Mrs John Baron is announced for Sept 2 in McKean. A new birth is recorded at Corry Memorial Hospital for Fred and Maxine Winters.
The 40th annual Hayes School and Concord Ridge picnic drew 43 attendees at Harbor Hall Community House. Officers elected were H. James Hammond president, James Chelton vice president, and Gladys Chelton secretary treasurer. Brent and Marsha Fralick and James Chelton performed during the program. Committees were formed for next year with various Chelton and Fralick members, outdoor games were played, prizes awarded, and ice cream served at the end.
