Rainmaking Planned To Aid Nevada Range Fire Fight

Firefighters planned cloud seeding to spur rain and battle vast fires in northeast Nevada. About 150000 acres burned in the disaster area declared by Gov. Grant Sawyer. Showers aided containment of two blazes but winds expanded the Boulder Flat Maggie Creek fire, which along with others, scorched more than 180000 acres northwest of Elko. Five crews totaling about 2000 men, many Indian professionals, assisted efforts as lightning sparked most fires.
