Potato Queen Crowned At Pennsylvania Growers Event
Miss Tune Keener of Fawn Grove was named Pennsylvania potato blossom queen at Potato City in Coudersport on August 18. The 18 year old West Chester State Teachers College student succeeded Dorina Mae Goderhaen and competed with 17 contestants. The program included dedication of a new $200 000 lower building by the Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers Association.

Wilbur Don Ross Dies After Illness
Wilbur Don Ross, a World War I veteran and former Erie Railroad worker, died this morning. He served with the 518 Machine Gun Battalion and went to France in the Great War. He left behind his sister Mrs. Robert Stevens of King Street and other relatives in Ohio. Friends may call and attend the service at Bricker Keating Funeral Home Monday afternoon.
