Lawsuit Against Beef Price Freeze Filed in Philadelphia
Salsburg's Meats of Shillington in Berks County filed in federal court seeking an injunction against President Nixon's beef price freeze. Judge Bechtle would rule today. Harvey Nathan, company president, argues the order is a deprivation of property without due process. He cited losses and a yearly business around 1.5 million dollars.

Harrisburg AP reports state government plans a cooperative bus purchase system to cut costs for districts. With about 600 buses bought annually, Gov Shapp estimates potential savings of at least 500000 dollars per year. Each district now bids individually at roughly 10000 per bus, but statewide bidding could reduce costs. Districts are asked to forecast how many buses they would buy under the coop plan by September 1. Districts own and operate nearly 4000 buses and contract for 10000 more from independents.
