U S jets strike North Vietnam as DaNang area sees raids
Air Force and Navy bombers logged 134 missions over North Vietnam including rail sidings and fuel storage near Hanoi Haiphong while thundershowers limited strikes around major cities. In South Vietnam ground action was minimal with no battalion sized contacts and Operation Portland underway 70 miles north of Saigon with no enemy contact reported.

Body Identified in Lake Erie Plane Crash Missing Pilot
ACHVABULA Ohio AP A body recovered from Lake Erie near North Kingsville Sunday is identified as Anthony F Farinacci 82 Madison pilot of a single engine plane that disappeared Dec 19 with four aboard. Two other occupants Marie Nevels 21 Munich and Harry Bissell 27 Painesville were recovered in weeks. Christine Buell 21 Painesville remains missing. The plane, never found, vanished while returning from Port Erie PA.
