Gas Explosion Kills Electrician at Reed Power Station
An explosion at Duquesne Light Company's Reed Power Station on Bruno's Island in the Ohio River killed Walter T. Perkins, 54, a longtime employee. Perkins died while preparing to enter a shut down turbo generator as a hydrogen coolant packet ignited, injuring no others.

Woman 88 Year Old Climber Found Dead In Chasm
Mrs. Roberts a Smethport Pennsylvania native and member of climbing circles is presumed dead after sliding into a chasm while mountain hiking. Searchers suggested she died of exposure after being missing for about two days. Her past climbs include Vermont Green Mountain National Park and Colorado Arapaho Glacier near Boulder.
