Cleveland Man Held in Assault
Jack R. Bennett, 24, of Cleveland, is to be arraigned on assault with intent to ravish charges after a mobile accident at the Lawrence Park Harborcreek road intersection. A 19 year old girl forced the car into a ditch to escape alleged advances. Bennett fled the scene, was chased by state police and arrested near Lawrence Park High School. The victim, Bender Kramer of East Lake Road, Hamot Hospital, with facial lacerations and possible jaw fracture, is listed in good condition.

William Arthur Smiley 77, lifelong Union City resident, died at Union City Hospital Wednesday night after a two year illness. He and his cousin once ran Smiley Brothers Dry Goods Store since 1913, after years in the family partnership. Services set for Saturday afternoon with retail stores to close from 2 to 2.

Prosecutor's Wife Freed in Shooting Case
In Hot Springs Arkansas the Garland county grand jury exonerated Anne McMath wife of Sidney McMath after an hour long session hearing 18 witnesses. The report says she acted as the elder McMath advanced threateningly at their country home on August 7 and she fired in self defense.

Minnie Tellman Dies in Warren Funeral Set for Monday
Word came today of the death of Minnie Tellman of Warren at Warren General Hospital. She is survived by sister Mrs Measor of Spartansburg, another sister Mrs David Wingard of Youngsville, brother Fred Tellman of Youngsville, and several nieces and nephews. Remains are at the state Funeral Home in Warren with calling hours before the service Monday at 3 30 PM.
