Governor Martin Calls For Million Federal Dismissals
Harrisburg August 14 Governor Martin proposes cutting one million federal payroll positions to save about 3 billion dollars yearly and funds a state veterans bonus via taxes. He favors starting with federal highway and airport grants, dismissals on a horizontal basis, and backs a veterans bonus financed by sales taxes if fair to all regions. He cautions against detrimental taxes and says he favors practical fixes that do not harm industry, labor, or agriculture.
