Busy police court session ends with suspensions and removals

Railroad officers pursue Columbus theft case

Erie Railroad officer James Stevens arrived on Url Train No. 10 to oversee six arrests tied to a theft of twelve quarts of liquor from the freight depot at Columbus Tuesday night. Four suspects are strangers, two are locals. Police conduct searches and plan to arraign the men in Columbus once evidence is secured.

Corry Court Cases Set for September Session

Abandoned City League Schedule Ends Season

At a City League meeting the season schedule was abandoned. The Macabees and Municipal Club were demoralized by player losses. no surplus funds remain for division. A three game cup series between Kurtz and High School will be played next Saturday, DeRosay Cup to be awarded by the series.

Well Known Employe Struck and Killed by Train Near Concord

Davin Gibbons, 18, was struck and killed instantly by an eastbound freight train two miles west of Concord while trying to avoid an oncoming train. The fast express stopped, the body mangled, and taken to Union City for burial. He was a respected Concord resident with a wife and two young children. his brother was reportedly killed nearby about a year ago.
