Erie Teachers To Get A $550 Pay Increase
Most of Erie's 700 public school teachers will receive a 550 pay increase for the 1957 58 term, announced School Board Secretary Arthur P Logan. The plan combines a 100 state mandated hike, a 250 raise from the last salary schedule, and 200 from a prior state funded increase. Officials cite budget strains and a looming special report on education services as factors shaping the cost and timing. Some teachers hired after 1956 may not qualify for the full 550.
