Sunday In The Park Huge Success For Corry Arts Council
The Corry Area Fine Arts Council held its third Sunday in the Park at the city park yesterday from 1 to 6 p.m. with an estimated 600 to 800 attendees. Local artists showcased crafts and three dimensional works plus a grade school children’s section. Prizes of 50, 25 and 10 dollars went to Michelle Altman of Erie for an eagle oil painting, Francis Shamz of Erie for a large collage, and Ben Greishaw of Union City for a carved turtle. With The Old Timer's Band unable to perform, Dixieland tunes were provided by a roster of local entertainers led by Dr James Hileman and Rita Downey, concluding with Gertrude White’s singing. Food stands run by the Corry Fine Arts Auxiliary aided visitors including out-of-town guests who praised the setup and displays.
