Clem Bevans, veteran film and TV character actor aged 83, died yesterday at the Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills California. He appeared in Morning Becomes Electra The Yearling Deputy Marshal Streets of Laredo and Davy Crockett and was under contract with 20th Century Fox for many years.

150 Women Poisoned After Sun Day Dinner
About 150 women, all over five years old, were stricken with suspected food poisoning after a Sunday dinner at Orchard Lake schools near Pontiac. Fifteen remained hospitalized in Ontario cities Paris and Brantford. many others were treated and released. Bus passengers bound for Buffalo also received hospital care as officials reported midmorning conditions as fair to good. Typhoon Carmen threatened Manila with 120 mph winds, plotted east of Samar Island.
