Milk Commission to Meet Again Tomorrow
Harrisburg Aug 12 The Pennsylvania Milk Control Commission may reconvene to seek an agreement on new orders that could raise milk prices by 1 cent per quart. The panel remained deadlocked last week as Snyder and O Loughlin backed the 1 cent rise while Chairman Cobb and dairymen urged a 2 cent increase. Cobb, presiding at a Brookville hearing, said a meeting would be held tomorrow to resolve the issue. Snyder said new orders reflecting his and O Loughlin’s proposals have been drafted and will be voted on at a formal meeting. Cobb emphasized he wants to see the orders in written form before voting. He indicated a 7 to 8 cent rise is possible if others agree, with a tentative 1 cent by September 1.
