Wrane Tete, about 55, a Benzinger resident near St. Marys, is jailed on aggravated assault charges after allegedly attacking his wife with a hatchet. He split her hose, blood spattered, and he was reportedly restraining her throat as authorities arrived. She was treated in St. Marys and is expected to recover.
Lewis Elmer Coulter, 42, of Titusville, died at the city hospital after a July 20 fall at the Tile Forge Co. plant. He was struck on the head when a crane hoist reportedly released a load, causing a fatal skull fracture and subsequent unconsciousness.

Reports say a southbound car crashed into a Baltimore and Ohio train near Smicksburg Station in Punxsutawney area killing two men. One passenger died at the scene, the second died later at Adrian Hospital.
