Mrs. Joe Johnson was assaulted in her Garland home by two masked men. A Ku Klux Klan warning posted on the door allegedly preceded the attack, with investigators probing suspects as authorities press for leads.
The funeral service for Stella Greley Bentley wife of John Bentley of Brie was held at Alesturlor Parlors conducted by Reverend Shays of Brie with many relatives and friends attending. Bentley had lived in Corry and surrounding vicinity since 1805. Relatives and attendees included Dr. P G Wood and many others from Meadville and nearby towns. Alverson attended to services, and the Grind Division rifle shoot proceedings noted with Alverson representing Renova Division.
Concrete pouring advances on the Elgin Road job as Bunce Company runs a concrete line past Union City Highway. Crews anticipate finishing the westward link by early October with heavy equipment moves drawing local attention.

Hordes of Corrvites are set to hear the Zen Zem Hane with Temple Araby Patrol next Monday. The Zem Zor Hurty will arrive in Corry at 10.
