GOP Denies Planning A $14 Million Deficit In Pa
The Sertuton administration rejects Democratic claims of delaying receipts to create a $14 million deficit for the 196 fiscal year. Budget Secretary Martin Brickbill said the administration posted tax collections in the final weeks of June to ensure receipts went to the year ending June 50. David Baldwin, once a Democrat and now an aide to the state treasurer, charged tax payments were deferred. Baldwin contends the administration acted counter to Law rence era practices as revenue staff worked overtime to post funds. Blackbill defended the efforts, stating they did not close the books on the old year until the new year began.
