Frank T. Murphey, extension forester of the Pennsylvania State College, advises farmers to cut logs in farm woodlots and store them for future use. With only about half the normal lumber supply, logs cut now will store well till next winter. Tulip wood, poplar, basswood, soft maple, and evergreens can be turned into boards and light framing, with larger timbers usable green. Obtain the extension leaflet from county agents or the college for details.
